Oil painting in blue: a tech lead stands talking to the squad at their desks, in front of a board of blank sticky notes

  3. Squads

Technology squads built around your needs.

Senior engineers, designers, POs and architects dedicated to your roadmap and integrated into your team, in the engagement model the project calls for.

Hiring hours fills today's gap and leaves the delivery risk with you. In a CCX squad, the team is accountable for the agreed delivery: it has autonomy over the how, as long as it delivers the what.

Four engagement models

Senior professionals allocated in the model the project calls for. The contract changes; the engineering standard doesn't.

Build a squad

Fixed-scope project

Scope, timeline and acceptance criteria defined in the contract, with risk management and delivery in short cycles.

  • Platform implementation, migration or ERP integration.
  • The squad exists for the duration of the project.
  • Acceptance criteria agreed per deliverable.

Dedicated squad

An exclusive team integrated into your structure, with shared rituals, backlog and metrics.

  • Tech lead, senior engineers, PO and, when needed, design and QA.
  • Suited to project demands of 6 to 24 months.
  • A CCX squad lead is accountable for delivery, quality and communication.

On-demand squad

Temporary reinforcement for demand peaks, migrations or campaign windows, with activation agreed in writing.

  • Start with one professional and scale as needed.
  • Grow or shrink the team as the project evolves.
  • Professionals pre-vetted for technical and behavioral fit.

Targeted project

A surgical intervention on a specific problem: performance, a stalled integration or an architecture review.

  • Performance assessment and remediation plan.
  • Unblocking an ERP or middleware integration.
  • Architecture review and technical debt map.

Where should we send the proposal?

The proposal goes to the email below, with the line-up you built and the next steps.

Pick at least one role.

The specialists your squad can include

Profiles from mid-level to specialist, across seven areas. The composition comes from the assessment, not from a fixed package.

Software engineeringBackend (Node, Java, .NET, Python, Go), frontend (React, Next.js, VTEX IO, FastStore), full-stack and mobile (React Native, Swift, Kotlin, Flutter).
Architecture and infrastructureSoftware architect, cloud architect and DevOps/SRE on AWS, Google Cloud and Azure, with Kubernetes and Terraform.
Data and integrationsData engineer (dbt, Snowflake, BigQuery, Airflow) and integration specialist (SAP CPI, MuleSoft, Boomi, Kafka).
Product and businessProduct owner, scrum master and business analyst with experience in roadmap, backlog and stakeholder management.
UX/UI and experienceProduct designers with Figma, design systems, research and usability testing.
E-commerce and operationsE-commerce manager and trainer for store operations and team onboarding.
Quality and securityQA with automation in Playwright and Cypress, API and performance testing, and a security specialist.

Where is your team right now?

Four situations in which a squad is usually the lowest-risk, fastest option.

A product to accelerate

The roadmap is bigger than the internal team.

  • Dedicated squad with a tech lead and PO.
  • Delivery in production from the first sprints.
  • Without growing internal headcount.

Overloaded team

Not enough capacity to migrate a platform.

  • VTEX IO, SAP S/4HANA or Salesforce.
  • Specialists the market takes months to hire.
  • Pairing with the internal team.

A hypothesis to test

Validate a product without committing to permanent hires.

  • A lean squad, with scope and success criteria.
  • Code and documentation in your repository.
  • A go or no-go decision based on real delivery.

Accelerated transformation

Headless, generative AI or ERP modernization.

  • A model that keeps pace with the project.
  • More people when it speeds up, fewer when it slows down.
  • A consistent engineering standard.

From briefing to delivery in four steps

  1. 1

    Assessment

In a scoping workshop, we map needs, technology stack and project goals.

  2. 2

    Squad assembly

We propose the composition and select professionals by stack, domain, language and time zone.

  3. 3

    Onboarding

Sprint zero: access, pairing with your team, code walkthrough, and definition of done and cadence.

  4. 4

    Execution and follow-up

Continuous delivery, with weekly reports and performance metrics.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum squad size?

There is no minimum. You can start with one professional and scale as the project requires.

How does the Pay to Execute model work?

You pay for the contracted execution, in the model you choose, with no fixed employment, benefits or infrastructure costs. Scope, pricing and terms come in the proposal, after the assessment.

What is the onboarding timeline?

The squad starts with an onboarding sprint zero: access to environments, pairing with your team, a walkthrough of the existing code and definition of cadence. The time to assemble the squad is agreed in the proposal, based on the profiles.

Can I replace a squad member?

Yes. If a professional isn't performing, CCX replaces them: managing and replacing team members is part of the service.

Do you work with long-term contracts?

Contracts are flexible: monthly, quarterly or per project, depending on the model chosen.

How is squad management handled?

Each squad has a CCX squad lead who is accountable for deliveries, quality and communication with your team.

Who owns the code?

The client. The code lives in your repository (GitHub, GitLab or Azure DevOps) from day one, along with the documentation, and the contract covers NDA and LGPD.

Dedicated squads guide

How a squad is built, which roles it includes, how you track delivery and when it makes more sense than hiring.

Dedicated squad or hourly staffing

Hiring developers by the hour fills an immediate gap but leaves the delivery risk with the client: when the project slips, the bill grows. In the Pay to Execute model, the CCX squad is accountable for the agreed delivery and takes on the risk of allocation, replacement and productivity.

The squad brings together senior engineers, a tech lead, a product owner and, when needed, design and QA, dedicated to your roadmap. The model fits three scenarios: accelerating a product without growing internal headcount, adding capacity to an overloaded team during a platform migration, and testing a product hypothesis without committing to permanent hires.

How we build a squad, from briefing to go-live

Everything starts with a scoping workshop, remote or on-site, covering the business problem, the current stack, the expected integrations and the success criteria. That produces the composition proposal: how many people, which roles, what seniority and the onboarding schedule.

Matching considers stack (React, Next.js, Node, Java, .NET, Python, Go), domain (e-commerce, supply chain, fintech, B2B), language and time zone. You receive a shortlist with résumés and can interview the professionals. After approval, sprint zero handles onboarding, and the goal is to ship something to production in the very first sprint.

Roles and seniority

Frontend, backend, full-stack and mobile engineering; data engineering; DevOps and SRE; enterprise integration; QA with automation; product owner and scrum master; and UX/UI focused on product design.

Seniority bands are mid-level (3 to 5 years), senior (5 to 8 years) and specialist (8 years or more, with rare depth in marketplace architecture, enterprise migrations and high-traffic platforms). Rates for each profile are presented in the commercial proposal.

Transparency and client control

You can follow everything: access to the board (Jira or Linear), velocity metrics, bugs per sprint, cycle time and lead time, and a monthly executive report comparing planned and delivered scope. Communication runs through a direct Slack or Teams channel.

Intellectual property belongs to the client: the code lives in your repository from day one, and the contract covers NDA, LGPD and compliance.

CCX squad or in-house hiring

Hiring in-house makes sense when demand is permanent, the stack is stable, the profile is common in the market and the company has the engineering maturity to sustain productivity.

A squad makes more sense when demand is project-based (6 to 24 months), the stack is specialized (VTEX IO, SAP, Salesforce) and hiring takes months, the company needs to accelerate without growing headcount, or it wants a variable model that keeps pace with the project. In transformations such as headless e-commerce, generative AI or ERP modernization, it is usually the lowest-risk, fastest option.
